The attached Specifications dated Revised May 31, 1990 have been approved by the Federal Highway Administration Division Office effective September 25, 1990. These copies are for your reproduction.

The revisions are as follows:

Section 550 – Allows limited use of smooth lined corrugated Polyethylene (PE) Culvert Pipe as an alternate for side drain pipe. Polyethylene may only be used under residential drives on projects which have a design year traffic of less than 1500 ADT. This and additional restrictions are noted on GA. Standard 1030 P, dated February 1991.

Section 576 – Allows smooth lined corrugated Polyethylene (PE) Culvert Pipe to be used as an alternate for slope drain pipe on all projects. Installation details are shown on GA. Standard 1030 P, dated February 1991.

Section 845 – This section is new.

These Specifications should be used, where applicable, on all future work let to contract.
